Wedding Cake Terms & Conditions

Wedding Cake Terms and Conditions

These terms form the basis of the contract between you the customer and Confetti Cake Company. These terms and conditions, your order and your order confirmation are considered by the company to set out the whole agreement between you and the company for the sale of cakes. It is your responsibility to check all details in the order confirmation are complete and accurate as this is the document we work to when completing your order.

Basis of Sale

Any samples, drawings, or descriptions that Confetti Cake Company issue and any descriptions or illustrations contained on social media channels are issued solely to provide you with a design of the cake they describe and remain the property of Confetti Cake Company.  Any pictures provided by you will be discussed as information but will not be copied as our work is individual to you and we will not copy another cake artists work.

Quotations are valid for a period of 30 calendar days from the day of issue. Cake sizes quoted are in inches and are based on the diameter of the cake.

No contract is made with you until Confetti Cake Company is in receipt of your booking fee which will be a minimum of 50%.  Once your booking fee has been received you are in a legally binding contract with Confetti Cake Company.

Upon receipt of the booking fee, your date becomes secured for you.  As a result, your booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Two months prior to the date of the wedding, a further 25% of the total cost of the wedding cake and delivery/set up charge becomes due.

The remaining 25% of the total cost will become payable four weeks prior to the date of the wedding.

Unless delivery and set up has already been quoted in your total bill, this will be calculated as following: Delivery is nationwide and is charged as a 60p per mile for the return journey to our base in South East Northumberland.  In addition to this, there is a daily set up rate of £15 per hour.  Sundays and Bank Holidays will be charged at £30 per hour. This delivery and set up charged will be itemised and stated after the wedding cake and included in your total cost and will become due at the same time as the payment terms for the cake.  The exception to this would be if this has previously been agreed as being included in your total wedding cost or as part of a promotional offer).

Allergy information and special dietary requirements must be discussed and recorded at the time of booking.  If allergy information is required to be added after this point, the buyer must be aware that this may incur an additional cost.

Only fully trained staff at Confetti Cake Company will transport and set up the wedding cake.  Once the cake has been transported to the venue and set up, it should not be touched, or moved by any staff at the venue.  Our insurance covers our staff only and we cannot accept any responsibility for damage to the cake after we have left the premises.  It is therefore imperative that you have discussed with the venue or wedding coordinator that they will have the room and the cake display area ready for our agreed arrival time.  We will not leave the cake until it is in its final display place.

If the design of the cake includes fresh flowers to match the rest of the floral arrangements, we will require the florist to include these in their costs and leave the required amount of flowers to accommodate your chosen design at the venue.  We will then prepare these and assemble them onto the cake which will be taken into account within our set up time.  We will not leave the cake for the florist (or any other vendor/coordinator) to assemble onto our cake as we cannot guarantee either the finished quality or potential of damage to the cake.   It is therefore imperative that the florist has been given a copy of the design of the cake so that they include sufficient florals and/or foliage for the cake.  These allocated for the cake should also be of the same quality as those within the rest of the floral arrangements.

If the customer is sourcing and providing their own cake topper, size and shape should be confirmed to ensure that it will fit on the top of the cake.  Once agreed, this should be left at the venue for us to assemble onto the cake.

Your quote does not include the cost of a cake stand.  Each venue will usually have their own that they will provide for you.  Please ensure that you have discussed this with them prior to the wedding and confirmed the size, shape and style.  Depending on your chosen design, the cake board may be large.  It is therefore essential that any cake stand provided can hold this.

Any changes to your design, size or flavours must be made no later than one month prior to the wedding.  Once the full balance becomes payable, there can be no changes made.  The customer is aware that any changes made before this date will incur additional charges.  In this event, the additional costs will become payable immediately.  The remaining balance would then be payable under the originally agreed terms.

In rare circumstances, we may need to make last minute changes to a design.  This will be to do with supply issues of a design element or if something is broken and we have to repair it.  If this means we are unable to provide the original element of a design, we will always replace it or complete the look with a product that is of the same quality and will match the theme of the rest of the design.  We will not change the overall look of the pre agreed design.  We would always expect the change to be minimal and not dissimilar to what is pre agreed.  We reserve the right to make small changes on the day if things beyond our control will affect the structure or stability of the cake.  This would include the temperature of the room, the positioning of the cake table if it is in full sun, staff who are not part of Confetti Cake Company damaging any decorations intended for use on the cake.

In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with your cake, we will require the customer to contact us in writing within 24 hours.  We will also require the cake to be brought back to us for inspection if the complaint relates to quality of the cake itself.  As taste is subjective, we will not accept complaints regarding taste.  We would therefore fully recommend that you have purchased a wedding cake taster box with our six signature flavours prior to your wedding.

Cancellations

The 50% deposit is a booking fee and is non-refundable and non-transferable.  If there is a cancellation any time after two months prior to the wedding and before one month before the wedding and the second instalment has been made, 50% of this second instalment amount may be refunded. If a cancellation is made after the final balance is paid which is one month prior to the wedding, then the customer is not eligible for any refund.  We would recommend that the customer purchases wedding insurance to cover such events.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for trusting with us with your wedding cake and we look forward to working with you.
